Six Sentence Sunday 3/27

I'm still in Duality-land. Someday I'll have a synopsis for this, I swear. Anyway, today's 6 is a section where 31 meets another Humani, a leopard-mix whom the scientists consider mute. She communicates through cat noises, like growls and purrs, but because 31 is from the same species (she's a melanistic leopard, so they're practically the same), she can translate. Until this, the leopard mix hasn't had a conversation in eight years.


 She mumbled something in French. “What did you say?”
            She stopped mid-stride and looked at me, amber eyes wide. “You understood?” She cocked her head to the side, and slowly, a look of recognition crossed her face. “You’re the one who can speak, aren’t you?”
