Six Sentence Sunday 07/17

Welcome back to SSS! Thank you for stopping by. It means a LOT to me that y'all check in every week. I must be doing something right. At least in six sentence increments ;) To visit my fellow Sixers, or to join in the fun yourself, check out the official Six Sunday website.

Today's snippet is from Duality! I've missed it, and this will inspire me to work on edits. I tried to find a picture that looked enough like my protag for you, but the elusive panther-furry-that's-close-enough is still elusive. You'll just have to use your imagination. She's quite
weird-looking.

To catch up:

Protag is a genetic experiment whose DNA has been crossed with a panther's. She has no memory, but she has totally awesome claws. Also, she looks mostly pantherish. She's lost one keeper already, and her new one, Sylvia, is the woman who had stayed by her side in the infirmary when she'd first woken up. I think that gets us up to speed.

“You haven’t been named yet, have you?” Sylvia asked.
“Jasper hadn’t gotten to that yet. Why?”
“I see. It’s just that Dr. Lorenzo likes for the Humani to have names rather than numbers.”
At his name, a pang shot through me and my heart stuttered.

  15. Your last line is intriguing, but I'm not sure what kind of pang it is... it's too vague... could be pain, recognition, fear, love... I'd really like it if it was a tad more clear :)
