Six Sentence Sunday 2/20

Admittedly, I'm having a lot of fun with Six Sentence Sunday. I like knowing that I get to share little snippets of what I've been working on with y'all. Don't know why, really, but I just do.

This week's six from Duality:

My breathing came in ragged gasps now. Through the pain, my muscles tensed.

He crouched beside me; my senses shot into a frenzy. I heard his rushing blood and the racing heart that pushed it. His fear, so reserved and so enticing, smelled like salt and copper--sweat and blood. I tasted his fear.

She's definitely not human, but is she sucking blood or licking? Or what?

I want to read more!
