This week's six is the continuation of last week's. Wanna know how an adorable little fennec can be dangerous?
This is how:
She stepped forward. Her DNA had been combined with a snake’s, but which one? Her forked tongue pierced the air, trying to detect my scent, slit yellow eyes darting left to right.
“31.” A new voice, glazed by a Spanish accent and panic, invaded the desert as if from the air itself. I struggled to place it.

LOVE it! I'm picturing that fox/snake-like creature. Creeeeeepy! And your twist - that the fennec is another experiment (?) - great twist!

Slit tongue. Darting yellow eyes. Snakes are so creepy. Love the description.
Now that's a image! Great description.
Awesome snippet.
Eek! As Alice would say, curiouser and curiouser...
Glazed by a Spanish accent -- great phrase.
(You can make the creature a snake if you want, but after that picture, I still think it's adorable.)
Wow, I hope she's not a poisonous kind.
There's back story there and I really want to read. :o)
Awesome!
OOOH, i have so many questions right now! Intrigued.
Yeah, guess I'm not the only one captured by 'glazed by a Spanish accent'.
So many questions left to answered in this. I love it!
