Meredith (@MMMReader on twitter [go say hi!]) helped me choose today's blog post on firsts. And there are a lot of them I could talk about, but the most important one is hands-down the first story I ever wrote. That's what started this whole crazy thing in the first place.
When I was in 4th grade, we had to do a writing portfolio (AKA the bane of every student's existence). I'd always been a good writer, but this was the first time I remember tackling fiction, in the form of a short story. And oooooooooh man, did I have fun. I wrote mine about slaves escaping from a plantation, and the thing I remember loving the most was pretending to be someone else and then WRITING IT DOWN. See, I was one of those kids who made up stories in her head 24/7. So, getting it out of my head and making room for more stories was completely full of awesome.
What about your firsts? Doesn't have to be writing related, either. Just something that impacted you. Let me know in the comments!

The first story was called Duck Food. I wrote it in the first grade. Actually covered a blog post on the story as well. Lol!
You're first story sounds so much more interesting than mine, just an observation.
Haha well yours sounds a lot cuter than mine ;)
I think it was a prompt or something. I don't remember a whole lot about it anymore. I'll have to look at your post :)
