"You must want to enough. Enough to take all the rejections, enough to pay the price of disappointment and discouragement while you are learning. Like any other artist you must learn your craft—then you can add all the genius you like."
Phyllis A. Whitney
MANic Monday is a reason for me to post pics of dudes. They're not always real dudes, either, but I think we bibliophiles (and game...um...philes) can understand the allure regardless. If not, then I just have issues.
This week, I wanted to feature one of my all-time favorite video game heroes. And believe me, I have a lot of them. We're going to spend weeks in the A's alone.
Allow me to introduce you to Altair of Assassin's Creed fame.
I am sexy. Oh yes I am.
Upon playing the first game, I FELL IN LOVE with Altair, thus resulting in immediate play-throughs. Five of them, to be exact. In a row. *It helps not to have a social life.* It wasn't just the innovative game play or the graphics either, although they both are phenomenal. Altair kept drawing me back over and over again. What I loved was his constant searching for the truth behind the Assassin's Order, behind the mystery of the Piece of Eden, and his grasping for meaning behind the truths he found. To me, Altair was one of the most real and unique protagonists of anything, video game, book, or whatever. Assassin's Creed still remains one of my top all-time favorite video games because of him.
And I SOOOOOOOOOOO cannot wait for him to come back in Assassin's Creed Revelations!
