Friday Feature - Bon Jovi

Don't judge me.

Friday Feature 5/11

I have an obsession with Gotye now. I bought Making Mirrors a couple weeks ago, and I'm still listening to it religiously. One of my favorite songs is Eyes Wide Open, which I think showcases his absolutely beautiful voice. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Friday Feature 5/4

HAPPY AVENGERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or for you non-comic book/superhero loving folks, happy Friday (not nearly as fun, BTW).

In honor of today's release, I'm sharing one of my favorite bands EVAR, ye good olde Soundgarden (and ye good olde Chris Cornell, my 3rd favorite Chris [behind Mr. Evans and my brother-in-law, who yes, comes 2nd to Mr. Evans]). This is their contribution to the Avengers soundtrack, Live to Rise. Enjoy.

Friday Feature

Today's Friday Feature comes from my good friend Matt, who requested some heavy metal. Thanks, Matt!

For your enjoyment, here's some Slayer!

Friday Feature

In honor of the Hunger Games release *OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG* here's a song from the soundtrack.

Friday Feature 2/17

Welcome back to another erratic installment of Friday Feature. I'm hoping I'll get back to blogging regularly, but with the Indies website and the possibility of school coming up, plus my general writerly duties and Xbox addiction, well...yeah.

Also, I'm dealing with a lot of difficult personal crap. If you know me from Twitter and also from real life, you know about it, and there's no real need to rehash. Everything's been changing since last October, and not always for the better but I know it'll work itself out in the end.

Every so often, a much-needed song comes along, which helps put life into something close to perspective. I'm still working on it.

But anyway, this week's feature is another from Snow Patrol. I REALLY dig this band. This is called "This Isn't Everything You Are." Enjoy.

Friday Feature 1/20 + Update

I haven't done one of these in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, and I've missed it.

But first, a little update.

As most of you know, I've started a review site with Landra Graf which focuses on independently published and self-published books. We've reviewed 2 books this month, and I couldn't be happier with the feedback we've received. We review 2 books every month. Landra and I post separate reviews, which go up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we also have an author interview at the end of the week. It's been fun, and Landra and I have gotten access to some pretty great books.

However, because I've go so many irons in the fire, I've largely ignored this blog. I'm hoping to change that, because I do enjoy blogging. I love being able to connect with you guys, who are so kind as to follow my inane ramblings. I hope to have more content up in the future, once I get this whole scheduling thing figured out. Time management has never been one of my strong suits.

That being typed, I would love for you guys to check out the site, after you listen to this week's feature, of course ;)

This week's feature is a song I'm completely obsessed with and, amazingly, heard for the first time at WORK. God bless my coworker for figuring out how to change the music... Anyway, for your listening pleasure, here's Snow Patrol's "Called out in the Dark"

Friday Feature 9/16

What is up, mofos? Time again for the Friday Feature. I have fun doing this and hopefully you guys get some good music out of the deal. If there's a song you wanna share, feel free to @ me on twitter with the hashtag #FridayFeature and lemme know. I'll happily post it next Friday for everyone to enjoy!

This week's Friday Feature is from the band Pop Evil. I freaking LOVE this band. They're awesome. Their new song, though, is so unbelievably beautiful (and apropos of a certain science fiction manuscript) that I couldn't help falling in love with it. It's just SO GOOD.

Without further ado, I give you Monster You Made by Pop Evil. Enjoy.

Friday Feature 8/19

Time for another Friday Feature, AKA chance for me to gratuitously post videos of songs I'm in love with. Huzzah!

This week's video is from uber-awesome Canadian band My Darkest Days. I freaking love this song. It's great to dance around to ;) Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Friday Feature 8/12

Hey all! I know I'm sucking at this whole blogging thing and especially posting the Friday Feature. BUT I'm continuing on. I really need to do all this on like, Sunday or something...

Anyway, today's Friday Feature is TV on the Radio's "Will Do" from their recently released "9 Types of Light." I freaking LOVE this song. So in love with it in fact I listened to it for about 20 minutes while writing a romantic (read: sex) scene for Spark. So, I wanted to share it with y'all. Hopefully you'll love it as much as I do :)

Friday Feature 7/8

Ok. So I haven't done this in like 3 months. It doesn't seem to be all that popular, but I have fun with it. Sooooo yeah.

Today I wanted to share my favorite song of all time. Yes. ALL. TIME. Which will probably explain a lot for y'all.

Fuel has been my favorite band since I was in high school. I adore them. They make me happy. Well, happy-ish. They were one of those bands I could identify with, and whenever I was hurt or upset, I listened to them, and it was like therapy set to great guitar. Also, they're a GREAT band to write to. Seriously. I think half the songs I used for Duality are theirs.

Without further ado, I present to you Shimmer by Fuel

Friday Feature 5/6

It's late, I know. Today's been...well, weird. But I've had a song stuck in my head for...about the last week or so, and I've chosen THIS VERY MOMENT to share it with you so it'll be in your head ALL. NIGHT. I'm diabolical that way.

Friday Feature 4/22

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiit's FRIDAY!

I want to share a song with you today that's actually one of my all-time favorite songs because it plays SUCH a huge role in Duality. Honestly, it shapes the entire book kind of from a distance, if that makes sense.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Friday Feature! 4/8

Friday!!!!! YAAAYYY!!!!!! One more day until I'm OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

To celebrate this wonderful and majestic Friday, I'm posting the musical orgasm known as Chris Cornell. And the rest of Soundgarden.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Friday Feature! 4/1

Holy cow! I totally forgot that it was Friday. Mostly because my weekend was Sunday-Tuesday. And spent with puppies. Pics will come soon because these babies are absolutely too cute not to overrun my blog ;)

There are going to be a lot of changes coming soon, and change isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm looking for a new job (again, yeah I know) which might affect my blogging. I know you're all horribly disappointed. Please keep the wailing and gnashing of teeth to a minimum. But depending on what I do, I'll hopefully be able to keep my current schedule. And I'll possibly have something more awesome to blog about besides...um, nothing.

Today's Friday Feature request comes to us from my Janne over at This Week's Hobby. Janne's a super-awesome writer who's been a friend of mine since high school. She also knits like a mofo. If you're into knitting as well as writing (which I know some of you guys are), check out her website.

And without further ado, I present this week's Friday Feature:
